Indiana County custody and court questions should go to the office that holds the record. Jail custody verification starts with Indiana County Jail. Sheriff matters, including bench warrants and prisoner transport questions, go through the Sheriff's Office. Criminal case files and docket help go through the Clerk of Courts or the Pennsylvania court portal.

Use the correct channel for the question being asked. A current local jail commitment is different from a sentenced state prison record, a federal sentence, an ICE detention record, or a court docket.

• For someone who may be held at Indiana County Jail, call 724-471-7500 and ask for custody verification. The jail's scam warning says callers may ask for the Shift Sergeant to verify incarceration.
• For written jail records, ask the jail about the Records Department fax at 724-471-7306 or the county's Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law process.
• For booking-photo context, see jail roster mugshots before assuming a public photo is posted online.
• For charges, bail entries, events, and docket numbers after an arrest, use court records after a jail arrest and the Clerk of Courts.
